One can get a bus north of the city to Sunset Coast, to the Pinnacles and check out the
Yanchep National Park. The Eco Activity Tour buses cover this region and you can
book a day trip here. The Bush Activity Tour is a little further outside the city and you
can also choose the Water, Winery and Wildlife tour, where you travel north along the
coast where you can see the Aquarium of Western Australia, and then one travels
back inland towards vineyard territory.
Swan Valley is famous for its wines and local fresh produce. There are local events in
Autumn and Spring where you can taste great food and wine, admire local artists
work and visit historic locations.
River cruises are organised by Boat Torque Cruises which bring you back towards a
vineyard as well as bringing you to Mulberry Farm for dinner. In West Swan there is
the famous Caversham Wildlife Park.
South of the city are where the magical hills area is. The Planet Pert Tours bring you
on a great bush tour on horseback which is brilliant and you have a barbeque lunch
included in the tour. Camel tours are also organised.
Rock climbing and abseiling can also be arranged. Take a ferry over to Rottnest
Island on one of the day tours. There is a small quokka living here. This is a tiny
wallaby that is quite unique. Also you might be lucky to catch a glimpse of the local
whales that hang out around September until December in this area. Snorkelling and
diving is available there as well as bikes and lovely walks. Another great diving area
is Penguin Island, and one can swim with dolphins near Cockburn Sound. Further
north is where the Ningaloo Reef is located and around here, one can swim with
whale sharks in the sea. All can be organised of course.
Sailing, kayaking, beach fishing and surfing can be very easily arranged in this great
city of Australia, which offers the tourist that little touch of paradise.
Southwest of the city is the amazing Margaret River Region which has great
vineyards and beautiful scenery.
